Attended the Amberley Mini day, they were expecting 100 Mini's but I think only half that total attended, here's a few photos I took.

In future the best way to do it is to select the picture you want and click on it. The list of options will appear on the right side of screen, scroll down to the bottom of the list and click copy and then paste the link into your post.

Fixed my hazards and indicators. Flasher unit was sticky from 10 years inactivity.

Fixed 1 indicator that wasn't working. Dirty connection.

Fixed low brake fluid warning light that wasn't working. Had to take the reservoir cap to pieces and clean it up.

Fixed the non working horn. Had to rewire the connectors coming in and out of the Rotary Coupler onto fresh circuits within the Coupler.

I'm happy!

Spent the day installing my freshly rebuilt overboard 998 and then realizing the distributor gear was in 180 degree out, fixed and fired right up. Sounds great and runs way way way better then before. My old rings had a 1/8" gap when I tested them in the cylinder so that lead to a rebore, new pistons and rings. First test drive was good until my exhaust fell off, oops didn't tighten a clamp or two. Second test drive was really good until it stalled on the side of the road and wouldn't start again. It clicks but will not turn over so I assume battery or some connector. Had it towed home and I will sort it out later

Yesterday was a nightmare! We have had issues on one car with the speakers randomly cutting out on bumps. So we fixed that issue, however while out on the test drive the drivers(RHS) front knuckle joints sheared at the ball, just below where the rubber boot would sit! Wasn't too bad to fix but still a pain lol

For the first time in 10 years, I drove my Mini. Mainly due to screwing it up, then having self confidence issues and burying my head in the sand......

But I have fixed her.

Albeit, it was up and down my cul-de-sac.

God damn is feels good to hear that 1st gear whine and bwarp from the exhaust.

Yep. I'm happy!

Almost forgot, purchased a dowel adjustable beltdrive from eBay.
Just needs a new belt, 52 teeth, 10mm wide I believe.

Changed the engine oil and filter today, was a cheap job too, I purchased 4 x 4.5 litre comma oil 20/50 for only £34.49 (good old ebay) and got myself some Crosland filter from Car parts for less. at only £1.45 each so I bought 4.  sorted for the next four years, and works out at only £10.07 per oil change. happy days.

That oil is a bargain - might get some myself. Is the zinc content and everything else all ok for the mini?

I am not sure to be honest, I have used it in every oil change the mini has had, so that's 5 since I have had it. its the Comma Xflow type MOT 20W/50. never had any issues with it, I only do about 500 to 1000 miles a year. and at that price its a bargain.
