Got the passenger side heelboard / subframe mount cut to shape and prepared, hopefully weld it up tomorrow.

Started first welding project, a welding cart, so teaching myself to weld

New 096 battery from Tayna, shaved the tabs and fitted perfectly. 

 

Little clean and buff all ready for Sunday at Brands Hatch.

Went at my welding cart with a flap disk, obviously not needing to be pretty (though it will get some orange paint!) i just wanted to see how well my welds had done.

Removed the old oil pressure switch ready for a new t piece, 20lb pressure switch & pressure gauge pipe.

check your welds by giving each joint a smack with a club hammer before you decide to paint - now you've cleaned the welds it should be easy to spot any that crack

Plumbed in my dual oil pressure & water temp gauge.
Started up the engine to check the gauge worked & to see if there was any leaks....... all good!

I decided to jump on it. It managed to support my heft, im sure it'll cope with the welder. Cheers for the tip!

Took the Mini for a little run today and managed to find the biggest car parking space in the car park, when I returned there were SUV's both sides of it
