Made some washers for the top radiator bracket, and washers for bolting the rad to the cowl.

Finished taking the engine out tonight having spent the last couple of days taking things off it.

Took the engine out my mates clubman estate in an hour and 45 minutes

Replaced the rocker cover cork gasket as it was quite hard and leaking

Changed the thermostat gasket on my mk3 1000.

Drove to MoT garage. Crossed road to to caff. Ate big breakfast. Came back and chatted to Andy, the tester. Drove home with clean new ticket.

 

Nearly didn't go - last year he had the effrontery to issue an advisory! I ask you!

I routed the wiring loom to tidy up the engine bay :p0

Always good to hear a straight pass, sometimes some testers will adjust headlamp aim if there are no failures as part of the MOT. I usually put my cars to the testers with no headlamp rings fitted (or Grille removed on my clubman estate)

Put her in the hands of the wife for the first time; to get to her hospital shift.

MR2 split it's radiator on the A3. Cooked her proper. Now got the real stinky job of changing the head gasket without removing the engine. Real stinky.

Sold the shonky E46 the other week...

Luckily the other half has driven all sorts and took to it like a duck to water. "Corrr, good fun isn't it!"

Practiced welded on the weekend modifying a fixture taken at work into a workbench. But with 2 and 5mm thick steel...

Nah. The seats don't want themselves spoilt by you sitting in them. Lol
