Serviced steering rack
Have a brand new on FAM7306 in a box, bern in garage for 4 years a gift from a friend who bought it in 2015.
However itโ€™s a LHD rack!! Wonder if minispares will exchange ?

If you cannot exchange it I may be interested in it. Of course the shipment over the channel may complicate things...

Yesterday I disloged these two guys out of their home since 1991.

Glad I did it on the bench. Maybe I should do it on Frankie also as the gears were not really clear, but is it possible to do on in situ? It seems to be really hard to do under the car...

Next step is to clean the housings and reassemble as soon as I order and receive the X-pin diff.

Heater was dripping fluid and on further inspection the matix has seen better days so ordered a new one along with a new thermostat housing, sandwich plate and gaskets as I noticed a slight leak form there the other day and it wasn't in the best of condition when i rebuilt it a while ago so while i am draining things down i might as well tick that off the list. Might as well give it a service as well while i am in the workshop.... ahhhh workshop time.... is it odd that i enjoy it.?

I spent most of the afternoon trying to fit the engine mounting bolts.  Hands are too big, fingers too short.

After lining the firewall on the engine side plus underneath the bonnet, I spent the day pulling out the dash and front carpets and fitting sound deadening and then sound absorbing materials to all surfaces. Made bugger-all difference to the noise levels and probably added about 10 kilos in weight!

Just finished refurbishing my SU HS4 carburettor.  Spent a lot of time worrying about and researching if I needed to rebus the spindle.  Finally decided to dismantle and check.  It was clear that there was wear on the spindle so fitting a new one felt OK so have gone with that.

What foam did you use for the bulk head? Iโ€™m needing some after replacing the brittle rover one but itโ€™s a mine field of which one is right for the job
