im going to do my test this summer, not getting like a 600 tho.. for a 33bhp bike will be too weighty!

going for like a ninja 250 :)

My friend brought one last year new, and its the nuts (in that green), or it was untill all his friends got 600's.

Passed my bike test in 1985 when you just thrashed round the block with the examiner watching you from quarter of a mile away. Had bikes ever since, from 50cc up to 1100. Got bored with the endless quest for the newest fastest model now but still have a few nice bikes.

No idea exactly what's involved with bike tests these days, but it's definitely a lot more complicated and expensive than in my day. It's only gonna get worse though, so go for it if it's something you're wanting to do.

I'd seriously suggest getting something a bit mundane for your first bike and get a few miles under your belt before you get the bike of your dreams. If you don't crash early on, you will at least drop it at a standstill at some point, or park it badly so it ends up on its side. Better to get that stuff out of the way on some secondhand thing you're not in love with. Build up some insurance NCB too 'cos it can be seriously stupid money if you're young.

Don't buy something flash and then restrict it to 33bhp, it'll be heavy and gutless. Buy something that puts that kind of power out in the first place. Doesn't mean you have to buy something dull though. Even the most sensible bike runs rings round most cars performance wise and you'll have an awful lot of fun. Then when you move up to the 600 (and beyond), you'll get exactly the same buzz all over again.

And those of you into Kettles and RG400's should check out My Website.

This is tucked away for when the mood and weather takes me.
Owes me nothing, 105/year insurance and will not depreciate!! Not cutting edge but still fills the need. Sort of retro cool these days?

I used to do a lot of test/development riding all over the world for Triumph, Aprilia and american cruisers etc but not anymore.

I have owned in this order:

Honda MT5
Honda MTX50
Yamaha RD125LC
Honda VF500FIIF
Yamaha YZF600 Thundercat
Honda CBR929RRY Fireblade

I'm looking for a Kawazaki ZX9 or Suzuki GSX1400 next. I want something I can commute on comfortably but have fun too. Not looking for anything hardcore like an R1 or Gizzer1000.

Looking forward to throwing my leathers and lid on again after over 6 years.

Well I've lost a good few pounds so the "shrinkage" shouldn't be a problem LOL Had a problem in shrinkage mk3 Cooper S?

My Hein Gerricke Tribal Black, Red and White might well look a little silly on a Kwak Green or Suzy White and Blue bike.
