MOT regulations now state that welds must be continuous, so in effect a seam weld for replacement sills.

Since when ?

Oringinal replacement panels can be fixed using the same method used in the factory, full stop.

ONLY patches and repair panels need seem welding.

well thats what i have so i think spot welds will be fine. plus i still dont get how you seam weld the edge of a sill anyway.

plus how will they know if is an original panel or not?

When i replied i was thinking of the underside of the sill not the doorstep side - didn't think of that :dontgetit: A seam would look messy there!
