Thanks Dale, thanks for getting it over to me so quickly. Pain in the bum to fit but it's nice to have a working window!

I bought Florence a present! :w00t: Now that I use this car for work rather than a modern box, I keep missing calls, hopefully the handsfree will work in a Mini! I wonder if the current Sony adapter in there will work, I didn't think to buy another :teehee:

My goodness she needs a clean!

My rivnuts and m4x12mm torx bolts have all arrived. As it's sunny on my day off I think I'll drill, paint, and fit the rivnuts, then attach my current arches with them. I haven't finished the flat and polish on the new arches, but then when I am ready I can quickly swap them over.

Disasterness! Super windy day, as I opened the garage door, the arch on the nearest end of the painting table was blown on to the floor >_< It's one I hadn't flatted yet, and thankfully it's only to the primer, so a key and a bit more paint and it will be back to normal again. Annoying!

Anyway, I carried on fitting the head unit. That was all straight forward. I've taped the mic in temporarily so I can test placement, and it plays music, which is more than the old one did! It looks nicer in the picture on the box, it's a bit not-very-Mini in real life >_<

I fitted the front arches, I like the green. I can't get my phone to work properly with the new head unit.

Quite wish I'd not started anything today >_<

Looking great James - your mic location is almost certainly what I'll do do the temperature LED. Still easy to see but not drilling the dash. Hope the arch is recoverable!

Well I've managed to completely balls up repairing the arch so it looks like I'll be starting again with that one! >_<

Oli, I couldn't bring myself to take a drill to the sacred mpi dash, hence my 12v is underneath out the way. The mic looks fine there tucked away and it's easy to feed a wire in behind via the air vent. It still won't work with my phone though, I'll have to pop down to halfords tomorrow and ask them what I'm doing wrong.

In those photos I have used some of the original trim. It comes off the front arches but it's glued on to the rear. As I have used bolts, when I finally order the new trim I can just loosen them a bit, slot it in, and do them back up.

The trim I've found can be found here: http://www.phoenixtr...berSection.aspx then click on T profiles, and its IRS 0517 EP. I'll have to trim the long tail in places but it looks like it will work okay and look the same as the Rover stuff. Others on that page look like they'd work too but the 0517 is one of the samples they sent me from my original description and photos so I went with that.

It's super busy at work now, no time to work on flo :dontgetit:

I drilled an MPI dash :shy:

What's happening with the bluetooth? I've had a few Pioneer h/u's and haven't had a problem setting the bluetooth up. What phone do you have?

Hey Mark, I'm not sure really. I'm trying to use it with an iPhone 4S. I can stream audio via bt, I can access my phonebook on the head unit, dial out and see incoming calls, but as soon as the call starts, I can't hear anyone speak and they can't hear me. The phone can see the head unit and during a call gives the option of sending/receiving audio via either the phone or the head unit.

I can't find any options on either the phone or head unit to solve it. I've never bought a head unit before, my previous basic Sony came with the first Mini I had and I moved it between them since. Thus far the Pioneer is not working out too well.

Are you answering the call via your phone or the h/u?

Sometimes, if I answer the call in my van via the phone, it'll revert to the phone speaker and mic. instead of the head unit. I've never really had any problems with the ones I have/had.

Doing it with the phone makes it do it through the phone as you say, doing it all through the headunit seems to do all the right things but nothing happens. The call counter starts too.

I've got a couple of hours free tomorrow so I think I'll pop down to halfords and see if anyone there can help.

Now on 9200000000 miles and it sounds like the engine is going to fall out. Sooner I can get the new one in the better. >_<

Ive started rubbing the remaining arch down again and that's going okay, but I have a busy week ahead so won't get it done this week. So annoyed that happened! I forgot to order some trim from Phoneix today, so that's holding things up a bit through my own doing again.

The head unit was exchanged and then returned as I couldn't get it to work with the iPhone calls no matter what I tried. Back to researching now for another one to buy

This has been such a frustrating week with anything to do with this damned Mini! Oli, I can't imagine how you feel with the added pressure.

No interesting photos of the car, no boring ones either, so heres a penguin.

Is that a Limited Edition Penguin or just a bog standard MPI (Mini Penguin Item)
