Still no progress on the engine, but yay new bits.

The Mini in a happy place =]

And todays work...

Cooper sport gear knob to match the interior handles. It wouldn't come off the stick so I have a black gaiter now too  I'd like to get a black wheel too to tie it all in.

I like the covered top dash rails, so I was glad to get hold of one. Complete pain to fit, but a couple of photos:

And lastly, I got the rocker cover cleaned up to a level I'm happy with for now. There are some wire brush scratches as seen here that need sorting, but I'll get it done properly when the engine is rebuilt.

I like it

Shame the rest of the engine bay is so dirty!

I love that dash rail cover

I'll have to add one to the list. You never know, in about 10 years I might have one >_<

Before I found this genuine one for sale, I had asked Optimise Automotive if they could provide one. They do them at a very good price if you don't mind fitting it to your own dash rail yourself.

Black stitching on black is very subtle but the covering is a different texture to the standard one so it does add a nice feel to the interior.

I'll get some better photos next time the car is in the garage. Outdoor photos of the interior are always over exposed on my iPhone.

I've seen the stitched top rails before, but I don't know if its just the soft spot I have on your car, or because the stiching is same colour on yours

Nothing really Oli. What I really need to do is get that other engine in!

£60 for an mpi wheel is a bargain! I've now got a 'good' cream and black wheel now that I bought ages ago. It's the early type with the colour patches in the notsowellthoughtthrough position Rover first used, but it will look a bit tidier at least.

I've not been on here in ages. The Mini is clocking up 2k a month at the moment, not far off going back around to zero! Athletics season goes on a bit longer this year due to the olympics, but maybe around September I'll get the car all fixed!
