What's your favourite MPi colour then?

Also, I thought I read somewhere on here recently, that there were two coil packs for the MPi hence the different arrangement.

I could have dreamt it however as I can't find it now >_<

Either Morello Cherry or Nightfire Red, shifty's being the latter. Balmoral interior. Pepper pots  I love pepper pot wheels on the late cars. I had a set for this but never fitted them, ended up selling them then regretting it.

Two coil packs would certainly make sense Paul! How's your Mini getting on?

Just had a look and found this http://www.theminifo...-mpi-coil-pack/

Mine are set as per the left photo. Mystery sort of solved, error in Rover manual?

Aha, that might explain it. Still can't find what I read so I'm starting to think I imagined it!

My mini's good at the moment thanks James! Being used as my commuter for a couple of months now, 30 miles a day and so far it's going strong! The scuttle and front end are starting to look decidedly shabby but I'm turning a blind eye at the moment due to a complete lack of funds :(

Looking forward to reading about the new engine when it's in - are you planning on swapping it over yourself?

Sounds about like mine then Paul. I'm on about a 32 mile commute, assuming I don't get sent anywhere else through the day, and the increase in use definitely shows!

I'm not sure if I feel confident enough to swap it over myself. I'd also like my gearbox checking over to see if any improvement can be made there while it's apart. Despite work going well, I still don't feel stable enough to spend a load more money on the car at this very moment. :(

Confusion regarding the ht leads seems over, they coilpack is marked as to which lead goes where:

My 1 and 4 were backwards previously. I've swapped them over to be correct as per the markings. It still starts!

Which two photos are you comparing? The 1 and 4 leads have definitely been swapped over at some point. They are still as when I bought the car in the photo from last time I worked on the car myself, so I'm not sure when they got swapped, or if it was me or TR&R who did it, for whatever reason.

Yeah it took me a while to find them, I kept looking near the plugs but as you say, they are down near the mounts. Rover manual definitely seems incorrect!
