Yeaaahhh - Didn't get chance to do that!

Then K's Mini needed a new head gasket - Which turned into a mammoth job! ... which we weren't able to finish this weekend! :ermm:

So - K's on a course in MK this week & needed to get there ... only option? Nora!

So, a couple of weeks ago, I had a large arguement with Nora's insurance company - Which resulted in me cancelling, so I've not been able to drive her. Today, I frantically bought some insurance (£180 cheaper!!!).

Nora and K went on their way - Leaving my parents house at 7:15 :)

At 8pm, Nora cut out and had spluttered her way 15 miles and only got K to our house! :dozing:

So now, she's sitting on the driveway - With Reggie, who has a blown gearbox, and Ronnie, who is a shell and now has a massive dent in the back.

Bloomin' cars! >:P

It's just what happens in the Bean household! :ermm:

You really wouldn't believe some of the things that happen to me, if I told you! :)

Including the time we went to a Mini show in 2 minis & broke down in both of them! - Got home at 7am the following morning - Just in time to get ready to go to work! :P

Then there was the time I got crashed in to on the way to a Mini show! :dozing:

... And then again, in the same car, 2 weeks later!!

I swear ... the list is endless!! You learn to live with it after a while, once you've realised it's not just someone taking the mick!!!

Gutted, lol - Might just swap the tank out for another one & then transfer the fuel! When we swapped Reggie to MPi, he had a full tank of fuel in him (not by choice!), so we're used to faffing about! :P

Yeah - He'll sort it!! :ermm: :)

I spent most of my weekend taking the Golf apart, just to fit a new bloomin' headlight! What a stupid, stupid set-up!

Well, we've not had chance to do anything on her recently. K's Mini needed new suspension cones, the headgasket finishing, a service, new headlights & the exhaust re-fitted!

So that's done!! ;)

I've managed to get Nora back to my mum & dad's this evening - Still with her blockage.

We'll work on her on Thursday, methinks. She needs to be ready for SMD!

She needs:

Blockage finding and removing,
Brakes seem to be made of cheese - They've got really bad - Think there's still air in them
Clutch needs bleeding - Her biting point is about 1cm off the floor!
I think she's got a headlight out
She's running rich and fast

I think that's it! :o

Hey Podman,
The paint was cut back with Meguars polishes and 'Scratch X'! :)

Bamby & Craig - Sorry, didn't get to catch up with you at the weekend - Had a bit of a nightmare SMD, to be honest - Didn't get to see much of the show - Spent most of our time in A&E! :(

But - On a different note ...

Nora broke down 21 (ish) times on the way to SMD! Took us 10 hours to get there - That's gotta be a record? :dontgetit:

Pikey & K fitted a replacement fuel pump, at the side of the A361! Thinking that would solve the problem, we plodded on - Only for her to break down 15 minutes down the road - Turned out that the valve in the float bowl was really badly worn and was sticking - nothing a bit of careful sanding wouldn't temporarily solve! :D

Unfortunately, she kept spluttering and coughing - More and more violently! :)

Aaannyways - We arrived at Bewl water at 11:30PM  Pitched the tent in the dark, nattered to some random Essex mini club members & settled in.

Fast forward a couple of days and a few hospital visits later, it was time for us to go off on holiday in K's Mini & Pikey was to take Nora home. She'd had a new valve and seemed to be running really well.

At our hotel in Folkestone, I get a text that Pikey had got home - And only had to stop 12 times on the way home!! :( >_<

Pikey then had Nora for the week and did a helluva lot of work on her, righting a few wrongs and bringing her up to speed! (Fankoo!! :D)

Bad news is ... she's still playing up and we don't know why! :(

K & Pikey have narrowed it to either the coil or the dizzy, but it'll take some working out - She's so inconsistant! :(

Anywho - Managed to get her home last night and arrived at 2PM - Then collapsed in bed, and immediately fell unconscious! >_<

Hope everyone else had a better SMD, lol :dontgetit:

Ooops - I meant to say 'fuel pump', lol

I fitted a fuel filter the day before, when I had the whole tank out, and the air line and made sure there was no way on earth that there was a blockage in it! :(

Sounds like you had a great time on the way to SMD as well, lol :)
