I've just been over the trading estate to the garage (It's handy having an MOT station next door to work!) - She's still parked outside, waiting to go in!
I'm all nervous and stuff!

The stalk has broken
Didn't think he'd test them again, as they'd passed the other day - But apparently they have to check all the lights again.
And, not sure whether he's failed it or not, but the fog light. It now works, but turns off with main beam. Apparently it's been taken from the wrong place.
However - It was THEM that fitted it over 2 years ago!!

I take it they're giving you free re-tests?

is it an original single stalk, they can often be tweaked 'n soldered back in to life, much more accessible than the later ones.

Yeah - It's the original MK3 single one. There's not a huge amount of accessibilty, but we'll give it a go - Failing that, Minishak have some spares, so we'll be alright.
The stalk was VERY stiff the other day - I couldn't move it to operate the indicators. I mentioned this to the MOT guy, but it was fine by the time it went in to be tested!
Yeah, fog light, I don't think is MOTable anyway - He's not failed her on it, I don't think - But I would prefer to have one anyways! (I don't like people not being able to see me!)
Don't worry - I've made sure they know that they fitted it in the first place and I will casually remind them many times!
And yeah, they're free retests!

4.30pm today!
Has had another ball joint, rewired hazards & fog, new switch. Found out why she's using so much fuel, too - Her accelerator cable was resting in the wrong place, so it was like it was always being pressed - She's a lot happier now, when she's driving.
She's an absolute pig when she's cold though!
Oh well - Here we go again!
