what should the spec of a 1962 mk1 super deluxe be? i bought it afew years ago to restore, and it came dismantled with bits missing, the wrong trim etc, i think its original surf blue in colour, can anyone provide a spec? some pictures? information? or even any parts? any help and advice will be greatly appreciated as i would like to restore it to its former original glory!

thanks everyone!

Mine was hydro suspension, Blue leather interior, cream/white head lining, 850cc with pudding stirrer gear change. None hinged rear number plate. 10" steel wheels on drums with chrome centre plates. But it had a fair few owners so cannot say if everything was original on it.

What sort of information are you looking for?

basically the entire spec of a '62 super deluxe, what trim it should have, what colour the wheels should be, what the paint code is etc etc every detail down to the last screw lol i really want to make it right, but not look brand new, i dont want new seats, but i want to find the correct type of seat for this age of mini, if you get what i mean, i want it to have that old car smell, but be as good as even a mint mini can be

i have alot of parts to go through, including alot of original chrome trim (overriders, grill etc) but i want to know what it should of looked like from the factory, if it should of had overriders from new etc

cheers!

Should be Overrider's and wavy grill, with bonnet release. Wheels are silver with centre caps. The seats are the low back seats, the type that'll let you snap your own neck in a rear ender.

Not 100% on the paid code.

it was a rolling shell when i got it, and the subframes were dry (but hangin and scrap) so ive sourced a pair of very good replacement dry frames with wheels (the ones on the 62 were painted white...?) im sure the grill is the chrome pressed steel one to, as the bloke who owned it before me had started to get parts for it to, but gave up on the project. i have overriders but they need re-chroming (not badly, but the chrome is slightly pitted and faded) the dash rails were also covered in black vinyl, is this correct? or has someone added this at a later date? the bloke i got it from said he bought it off someone he knew, who had it in there shed for about 20years, forgot it was in there! will try upload some pictures he gave me with it! i really cant wait to get started on the rebuild, its been sat patiently for the last 25years or so, but needs a major resto!

The grille wil depend on if it is austin or morris,
If the dash rail are covered in vinyl then it may be a cooper shell? I presume you have not got much paperwork with it?

Any boot board brakets fitted?

that is one stunning mini! think mine will look something like this when its done (i hope!) i just had a look through the paper work i got with it and in there was a heritage certificate!! will this tell me all i need to know about trim etc? pictures definatly help though!

its not a cooper shell, it definatly is a super deluxe, i think it was "modernised" 25 years ago with some clubman seats, vinyl dash coverings, and 5x10 cosmic alloys lol

Fantastic car and how about the delicacy of the Austin Mini badge !

By the way, from when exactly did they have this one replacing the Austin Seven one ?
