Heres a couple of shots of my 1963 Austin Super Delux (build date April 1963). The colour is Surf Blue (code BU35), wheels are OEW (WT3) and the interior is powder blue leather cloth.
Hope these help.

Fantastic car and how about the delicacy of the Austin Mini badge !

By the way, from when exactly did they have this one replacing the Austin Seven one ?

I believe the 'Austin Seven' badge was dropped around 1962/63? Probably when the Mini Super was replaced by the Mini Super Deluxe?

The Austin Seven name changed to Austin Mini in January 1962 and the Super was discontinued in October 1962.

Are you sure it is a super deluxe ?

If it is a super (which I think there is a good probability if it is '62) it may also have lots of features from the cooper eg door cards, seats, boot board, trim around front window, etc

IIRC the grille was pretty unique and difficult to source.

Plus the Cooper ashtray and upper & lower dash padding, plus boot board and brackets?

just got the heritage certificate out, and it says -

make and model - morris mini minor saloon

chassis number - ill leave this blank for obvious reasons

engine number - as above

specification - rhd, home market, super-de-luxe

colour: a) exterior - surf blue
b) interior - not recorded
c) hood (top) - n/a

date of build - 10-14 dec 1962

date of dispatch - 16th of jan 1963

destination - derngate motor company limited, northampton (so its a very local car indeed!)

plus several other bits of info about it, so it definatly is a super de-luxe!!! it has some interior trim like door cards, which are blue leatherette, so im guessing the rest of the interior should be the same colour?

If you look carefully at these two pictures you'll notice that the dash liner and parcel shelf are a darker shade than the rest of the interior. Also note the diamond pattern trim on the inner sills and the central floor box section.

Other details are the early window catches (note holes in runner) and the rear opening windows.

as you can see, i dont really have a massive amount to work from, hence needing details and spec of a '62 deluxe... im in for the long haul, as this is my pride and joy, and will see it through to the end (even if i have to sell a kidney to fund it! :D)

There is also another member on hear (mk=john) who been restoring a 1960's mini. I know it's not the exact same year but maybe it might help with things like the suspension and running gear etc?

I've never studied my radius arms in much detail so I couldn't tell you weather they are the early or late ones.

By the way, my car is pretty much how I purchased it, it has only had touch ups done to it in the past and is pretty much original. I preffer driving Minis to scuffing my knuckles and rolling around the floor getting mucky. I did around 5000 miles last year going to various shows last year including IMM, the MCR day at Baulieu and the BMC show at Uttoxeter. The next Mini show I am plaining on taking my Austin to is Gaydon in July, so if you are going keep an eye out and come and have a look.

By the way, [...] I preffer driving Minis

Who wouldn't prefer driving such a car ! That especially nice as it looked to me very much a concours car !
Anyhow, I found before that Surf Blue was a bit too much a colour, a little over the top for a vintage Mini, but now I consider it much more a good choice !
