I bought an earlier switch panel and welded in patches to make the gap smaller.

what i did about them sticking out is, i un-scewed the bolts from the back, took out the bracket that fits between the switch panel and the body work and bolted it in place through the holes already provided with some nice rounded bolts.

this was in my last mini -

the first picture is how i bought it, the second picture is after getting my hands on it... :P

Restoring the clubby estate as well and preferred the look of having no dash rails and a centre speedo. So off come the padding filled in the fixing slots

Decided to change the standard switch panel for a row of flick switches with LED marker lights, so plated over the opening and smoothed off ready for careful drilling, keeping the centre ashtray, for loose change

Yep I'll be using the ignition in the centre.

I'll have to disable the ignition in the column so it doesn't lock the steering.

I think, a dashboard should look like this:

No padding on upper or lower dash rail, just a centre speedo (and possibly without the air vents, also)

Cheers,
Michael

what have you done to make the switch panel sit flush?
