I believe that the bare metal upper rail and padded lower rail was standard in 1980. I don't think the centre binnacle was fitted to standard models for too long after 1980.did u do that or was it like it as standard

You will also need something to stop objects falling though the hole in the passenger side. I'v used a run plaque. These are not supplied.

My dash (1980) is bare on the top and padded lower rail.
Love your interior! your mini looks very very nice! the door cards matching the seats are ace! are they microcel seats? the mini special console suits too!!

Thanks Ed, The seats are standard recliners, recovered with Newton Commercials repro 1275GT covers and matching door cards.(The rear is original)My dash (1980) is bare on the top and padded lower rail.

Heres the dash in my old mini
Nice wheel! Is that a Nardi? Or a replica Nardi? Is it 330mm or 350mm? Did you get the boss with it? It looks great. The perfect dish.
Heres some pictures of SONIC dash rails. I love the no dash rails look personally, and agree that it gives the impression of a lot more room
