Yeah that's right, say if something is at £5 and I bid £15 it will bid the minimum up to £15 to keep me winning. I'm sure there isn't a way for it to select an order for you to bid in, if you're wanting Item A and have B as a backup, you'd have to bid on them both? Or bid on B after you've lost A?

I seem to remember that on fleabay there used to be an automatic bidding option, ie..

You bid up £10 on item "a" and then £20 on item "b"

Item "a" finishes before "b", if you're bid on "a" was unsucessful ebay would then bid on item "b" for you?

Have I imagined this??????

Yes you're right it did exist but was cr*p really, you picked several similar items to bid on then added a maximum bid, and it automatically bidded for you on each item until each auction ended in the hope eventually you would win something, wasn't good for winning anything cheaply so nobody really used it more than once!!

Since when have they started having ads in the auctions? Don't they make enough money as it is!!?

personally i just watch the item and bid within the last 20 mins setting timers on my phone. nothing more anoying than an eirly bidder who makes it more expensive for you if you win. wait till the last min there's nothing to gain by early bidding

but yes there are many sniping programs

I knew it!!

Thats exactly what I want it for, got my eye on a few interiors for my car. Mrs Shifty could give birth anytime soon and chances are I won't be anywhere near a computer when it happens.

Ah well, will just have to do it the old fashioned way.

Yeah it's easy, make a bid, get winning the item so say you got it at £13.54, then you enter a maximum bid at £25, and if someone bids £15, it will jump to £16 or so :(
