sorry for the long reply i lived in Akirotiri on the RAF base as my father was in the airforce, lovely place to live, and i would LOVE to take a mini around the corners down Happy Valley if you know it?
Yes, it is a favourite route on my motorbike!
I will certainly be taking the Mini through there when finished!

It has not been a good year for the project so far... I was let down on a couple of small parts by two suppliers in the UK - the net result was that I waited six months for bits that should have been delivered at the beginning of February.

Still, now work is under way again - engine all assembled on front subframe with suspension and drive shafts, etc. and ready to be started this week...
Rear subframe in and suspension all complete.
Will drop the body over the engine as soon as it is running.
I'm not good at posting pictures as I go so I've uploaded the whole lot to Picasa which you should be able to view by clicking here.
Hopefully somebody will find them of interest!

Stunning looking engine and nice paint finish. This is similar to how I want my round nose mini to turn out, so I'll be watching this closely. Great work.
Thanks for your kind words!

I have to say you are doing a fantastic job there. Tested engine too, always a good idea before insallation ! Nice sunny weather to work in, very nice.

Hi,

Thanks!
Yes, I thought it would be a great idea to test the whole thing before 'dropping the body over it'...
However, it turned out to be a bit of a nightmare job and I had to remove the rad to get it in.
As anybody that has tried it knows, installing a rad and cowl is a ghastly operation!
Still, all done now and moving on....
The weather is lovely - no rain since May... Need to get the car outside now and do as much as I can before the rain starts in November...

Sorry for the delay... I have replied.
