all this verto and pre-verto stuff is boggling my mind, as u look at the engine on the left where the gearbox casing is theres a long arm the comes out, and my slave is mounted onto the engine right nex to the gearbox casing. its mounted flat and when bled it p*sses all over the wing!!
and as for a turbo clutch and flywheel, might have to look into it!

If the slave cylinder is mounted horizontally it is a pre Verto clutch, if it is mounted on the flywheel cover at an angle, it is Verto.

Although its not particularly clear, this is a pre-verto set-up, with the longer arm and the slave cylinder mounted onto the transfer gear housing.

It is entirely possible that your engine has been fitted with the pre-verto set up. The 1275GT originally came with this type of clutch, and if someone has transplanted the engine from a later car they may well have utilised the clutch from the original 1275GT engine.

If you're pre verto, go for an Orange spring and a bonded clutch plate, will cost about 70-80 for both.

yeah the one my mates got is a verto setup.

As GW says go for an orange diaphragm and an AP rally plate. minits are the cheapest/best local place to go for them :w00t:

Definitely don't use double grey, will be far too hard for everyday driving. An orange diaphragm will be fine, thats what I was using on my 1425 and it coped with the power without a problem. Not sure on the bonded clutch plate though. I can't see any problem with him using other peoples parts.
