Sexy - Good luck with it here are my questions:
1. What turbo are you using?
2. How has the gearbox Strengthened? - (News gears? cryo'd?)

This is gonna be great.. been waiting too see a built turbo K series zcar!

Thinking of Borg Warner S372R or maybe something smaller.
Gearbox will see some PPG or Albins straight cut gears.

Still in its early days but hope it gives you an idea of what I am seeing.

All depends on your location. Where are you located on the world map? My build and I are in Australia.

S372R???? is this a drag car?? with a good tune you can get 900 out of that thing... seriously if your gonna be using this on the street and track i would recommend a GT30 which will give 400+ with a good tune and will give much better traction. trying to get traction on them 13inch wheel is going to be hard with anything over 400hp :/ also there will be ALOT of turbo lag on the S372R

What you are saying is correct. It is just a sketchy thought at the moment on choice of turbo. If I were to aim for around 400hp, i would go no doubt go with a rotrex setup, however, I am going for the 650whp mark. Initially I was thinking of a BW S300SX 88/75 but at most the S372R. I will consider your recommendation and thanks for your interest. I will look into the GT30 turbos. Just looking for a turbo to match a destroked K24 (2.2L), sleeved & decked, 10.5 comp., cnc ported head, turbo cams, 9500rpm etc.

A Borg Warner S362 will net you about 500WHP (Im at 498) at 20psi. This is on a K20Z1 non-built block. This is how I know http://www.theminifo...showtopic=63310 :( On a built block this turbo will be perfect. I had a GT30 and trust me when I say Borg Warner FTW. Let me know if you have any questions. I havent been real active on the forums lately but but Ive helped many people on here.

And Yes even at 500 WHP its one hell of a car.

"I had a GT30 and trust me when I say Borg Warner FTW." hummm explian this statement more please XD

Keeping in mind a GT30 is out of question with his 650hp target

between a S362 and a GT35 with a 10.5 comp the GT35's faster spooling is a winner in my eyes.

haha 500 on a non built block your sir are a legend.

On MY engine......I cant confirm on anyone elses.

The GT30 spooled about 200RPM faster than my S362. Because he s increasing his RPM to over 9000 the GT30 will be at its peak well under that mark. Where as the BW will still be climbing till redline. And did I mention the BW turbos are far less money than the Garretts. Dont get me wrong the GT30 is an awesome turbo but I have fallen for the Borg Warner.

The GT35 is a better and more comparable turbo to the BW's, however if you do some research there is a reason why the BW is called the GT35 killer. hehe

You really cant go wrong with either one IMO though.

Its hit 600hp but its been detuned for drivability. Its all in the tuning in my eyes. This engine is a low compression engine to begin with. Im using Hondata but the Hydra is a very good alternative, but a bit of a learning curve to use.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I will no doubt have plenty of questions in the near future and will need all the help I can get. It is my first build of any kind.

I did not mention that I am keen to use a twinscroll turbo so having said that, does this change your turbo recommendations?

Thanks again.
