Don't bother with the stuff you spray on the screen over night - tried it this week and it is cr*p.

Better off still using the normal de-icer in the morning

:(

Yeh, don't bother with the night before stuff, i tried it and it's C**p. It made a real mess of the windscreen and took weeks to come off...streaky as hell

What I've been tempted to do in the past is run a coil of cooper pipe through the washer bottle and connect it to the heater pipes, that way you should get heated washer water :cheese:

Just use neat washer fluid and you should have no problem. It wont freeze and only needs a little squirt on the screen. Use Night before de icer on the screen and then a quick spray in the morning of de icer and use the wipers to clear it and you'll be on your way in less than five minuits

It works. spray on the night before de icer thick, on a dry, ice free screen the night before. In the morning, start the car and have the blower on the screen. spray de icer on the screen then use the wipers to clear the screen, job done. Never had a problem :(

Oh and the ice scraper from ASDA for 49p is the best I have ever used :(

Fits inline with one of the heater hoses an then pass the washer fluid through the small pipe that is wrapped round the large tube.

I've been working on an idea of heated washer jets as that is what freezes rather than the fluid in the pipe :cheese:

Or better still, just get a pan of boiling hot water and throw it at the screen!

Nip in to Halfords, they do something called night before de-icer...

I had never heard of it before until a couple days ago when I was in there I heard someone ask for it..

Rub on the windows at night and hey presto, frost free in the morning..!

Until you spray them and they ice up that is.. but jammy_basturds flame thrower would take care of that..! :(

No, the window still ices up, it creates a barrier between the glass and the ice. It prevents severe frost sevearly sticking to the screen. You know the stuff, that which even the sharpest of scrapers wont touch.

You have to put this stuff on with an eaven coat and fairly thick the colder it gets :cheese:

That can cause the glass to crack as the boiling hot water hitting a freezing cold window creates shockwaves!

So dont do it if you love ur mini!
