Arrrrggghhh you're welding with no mask!!!!!!!!!!

Please don't, you can damage your eyes so badly..

Anyone reading this- you MUST wear the proper full-face mask when Mig welding!!!!

EDIT- beaten to it above

mwahahahahaha lol id never weld without a mask, the damage to your eyes can be devastating, your eyes will burn and weep, your eye lids will stick together, they could get infected, and you could lose them (worse case scenario) but please wear a mask, you wont be able to finish, let alone drive your mini with damaged eyes

ok, well please tell him to wear the mask, or issue an appropriate *******-slap :D

Also, may be worth telling him to up the power control on the mig, there's little if any penetration on the welding on the headlamp surround.

i agree, if you smack the panel from behind with a hammer (not to hard though) i got a feeling it will ping off, the welds are stuck to the surface, and not penetrating through both panels like they should, you'll prob do a stronger weld with duct tape lol practice on some scrap sheet metal 1st, and make sure u hear the gas coming out the welding torch before welding (and make sure u got gas in the bottle!) or your welding gasless, which isnt good and no where near as strong as welding with a good welding gas (argon+co2 mix is a good 1, and 1 i use personally)

You can’t run a weld without a mask, maybe tack without but no more. You need to see the weld pool when you are welding; that’s only possible through a dark lens. As others have said, eye damage is highly likely as well.

The welding mask doesn’t only protect the user; it allows you to see what you are doing. The welds at the headlamp panel show that no weld pool has been created, just molten welding wire stuck to the metal. You need a weld pool for penetration; you need penetration for strength.

Don't wish to sound harsh fella but better safe than sorry

your mate is a health and safety disaster waiting to happen, hope that window isn't needed either as the sparks from the grinder will ruin that too (my work colleague ruined a window on the works van with grinder sparks aimed at it lol)

Other than that you'll be scraping the snails off the road that low lol
