Good to see they are spending tax payers money. They should buy cheap cars in my eyes......

Thats why the country is in a mess

yeah, i dont see why they need expensive BMW estates and Volvo estates as well as all of the other stupidly expensive cars they have!

The police dont pay retail prices, they pay alot less as they buy in bulk from the manufacturer.

In north wales we use;

Ford Focus Estate
Ford Galaxy
Honda CRV
Mercedes Vito
Vauxhall Vivarro
Audi A6 Estate
Ford Connect
BMW 3 series estate
Volvo Estates are being phased out

Yeah but they are all 10k plus cars, they should buy 2nd hand ones, save us some money lol, and the cars they race around drink lots of juice away...

just my thoughts..

got some people can't be satisfied! I'd rather they spent a LOT more on cars they need them they get a very hard life (most are dead after 5 years) they cost a fortune to convert to police cars (probs as much as they cost to buy) and they maintain them very well!

not to mention that they often don't buy the bmw's and other fancy cars they are given as test cars and to better the brand, like the V6 turbo vectra, that is a concept vectra VXR

it worries me that this place is so anti police!

so they dont have to get out to hit people with batons :dontgetit:

:P :) :P

Could possibly understand if it was a normal Cooper S, but really don't get the soft top idea  More suited to a lady hairdresser, I reckon.

Can't imagine traffic cops being too happy having to drive round in cars that were anything less than comfortable, and why should they? 12 hour days etc sat in the set of a vehicle.

The usual town cars are all fairly reasonably priced fords/vauxhalls etc.

waste of tax payers money that is, imagine throwing a criminal in the back of that, by the time youve put the seat forward theyd be out over the side anyway.

probably cost them quite a bit for that, they couldve bought a car they can use at least

This 1968 Mini Police car is for sale, also in Sussex! :ermm: .....................but only £29,950:

Perhaps the most famous genuine
original Mini Copper,
sorry… Mini Cooper S in the world.

Yes, it really is the one you saw
chasing Mr Bean round the track at the
2009 Goodwood Revival meeting
and guess what, Sussex Sports Cars
have not only got it in stock,
but its up for sale as well.

This stunning and immaculately
restored little gem
really is the business,
a genuine survivor of 1960s
law enforcement.
It comes with just about every
conceivable piece of police
memorabilia, that you could ever
possibly dream of
and stacks of it, to boot.

In this case, the car
is most definitely the Star.
"OKD 698" has even been celebrated
on a set of Royal Mail stamps.
It has also been featured at many
notable events and appeared in a number
of films and television programmes.

by the way i think the police need the high end cars for reliability, comphort and speed. all these are needed in a police car i say and if anyone deserves cars like these it should be the officers keeping us safe. :ermm:
