Brilliant attitude, keep going, just imagine what kind of animal it will be.

Also, i've now come to expect my car to cost me money, I expect to find rust, broken/worn out parts.

Then when I find them im not suprised. And when it's running nicely it's a nice change and a bit of treat.

Then im never dissapointed with it :)

I commend you for sticking with it after all your problems, good luck finishing it.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. And Burnard your more than welcome! But Im sure if you call Kermit a SHE again he wont like it aha!
Just been over to TDK racing to order some more panels. Still suprised at how much carbon fibre panels weigh compared to steel!
I cant wait for them to arrive.

Anyhow..pictures as promised

First off, me grinding the lip of my girlfreinds bonnet :D turned out really good after she resprayed it

Welding needs to be a bit more tidy, hadnt gone over it with the grinder to neaten it up but im happy as im still a newbie with the kit and it doesnt feel like the welds going to break. Do you guys think its ok, looks a bit messy towards te corners but was hard to get the welder in there.

Hope you all like

Ben

Yay the primer looks like it turned out ok despite the quick change of weather!
Can I just add, there is a lot of overspray on the roof, but that didnt matter as he is getting a carbon fibre one!
I wasn't just being messy :D

OOO i forgot

weight savings so far

2xBumpers removed with over-riders 4kg being replaced with just 1 rear carbon bumper and carbon overiders that weigh a few grams

Rear valance at 2kg being replaced with fibreglass valance which is under a kg

Parcel shelf at 1kg replaced with fibreglass at a few grams

passengers door at 20kg replaced with fibreglass door and polycarb window at 9kg-about another 1kg to lose of this and drivers door to be done soon.

Bonnet at 6k replaced with fibreglass at 2 1/2 kg
Carpets/soundproofing at 5kg
Bins and rear bench at another 5kg
Webasto roof at 22kg..another couple of kgs to lose and being replaced with a carbon fibre roof with should be around a kilo
sound system/bootbuild at 80kg

to weigh still

seats when i get thgem (aiming for 7kgs each)
fuel tank (new one is alloy)
rear quarters as mine are poly carb
rear window (polycarb)
bootlock/lamp hindges and bootlid (im using bonnet pins and fibre bootlid)
6x9s and headunit
front end (fibreglass)
door cards/furniture/rear cards
bootfloor (fibreglass)
Battery (redtop or similar)
alloys compared to steelies
Arches from sportspack to my carbon fibre miglias

i worked it out somewhere around 140kgs with an aim to lose 150kg in total once the projects finished..twice my weight with 10kg to spare! once the cage and everythings bolted together i think well be around 150kgs lost

the big player in that will be my cage and seat choice, my alloys weigh in at 12kg each with the tyre on, i wonder how much 1 steel wheel weighs as im curious. and id like to know how much 2 steel wings and a valance weigh if anyone can help.

Nice weight saving there.

Go coilovers and rear beam to loose a load of weight out of the back end.
