If you're not having 6j+ wide wheels then the smaller group 2 narrows will be perfect Rob, wide ones will look ridiculous unless you're running big fat wheels. Gp2 narrows will be good up to 12x5.5 wheels :D

This exhaust looks pretty good, to get rid of you're truck silencer on yours :)

Is one of the cheaper ones but looks like it'll do :w00t:

Cool, thanks dan :D

Well I think the maximum I would go up to is 5.5x12" but I don't plan on changing my wheels for a while anyways.

Hahaha my current silencer is huge tbf  . I spoke with my Dad and he definatly doesn't want to de-CAT her, so its definatley going to be CAT-back. He thinks the CAT could not be standard or could be the scraping and buying CAT-back system wouldn't solve the problem or "the reason for buying a new exhaust". ( Upgrading for sound alone isn't justified with him ). Though it is for me :w00t: .

Your link looks pretty good ( it's Mini Sports RC40 I think ). The only thing is 1.75" exit looks a bit small imo :) . Mini Spares offers a2.25" Silencer and that would need ( I think ) this pipe to link it to the CAT Clicky

Now the other option I have been playing with is PlayMini, as I have heard great reviews from them. They sell a simular product to the above but in 2" option or a 3" option.

Im favouring the 2" as I think the 3" may be a bit too big. Dan what size is on your mini which your brought around? As that was a nice size :w00t: .

Also does anyone have any experience with the RC40 or Play Mini , and what do they sound like? Im aiming for more of a sporty rumble than "boyracer" noise.

Well mine's a Play Mini on a carb engine, so would be very similar to that, apart from mine hasn't got a cat in anymore.

I'm 99.9% sure it's your backbox scraping, not the cat but would have to look again properly not just a quick look under the "OH MY GOD that backbox is huge!" kind of moment... :D If it is the cat then the mountings might be shot, again, would have to look at it and give it a poke here and there before coming to a conclusion on that one!

I think the 1.75" exhausts can look pretty damn cool, more retro than boyracer-ed. The RC40's are normally prety quite but can give a nice throaty noise under acceleration.

I think mine's a 3", but would have to check on that one. Tis rather loud.

Might have to work on your Dad letting you have a de-cat :w00t: Or we could fit it and keep shh :) Only joking!

Most exhausts that come from well known manufacturers are good, maniflow are one of the quieter ones.

Yeah I think it is my backbox after you said it was like a trucks exhaust ;D, plus it is only a few inches from the road!

Haha I have been trying, I don't think my mum would mind but dad's one of those people who likes to stay to the rules, always :shifty:. On a side note I was looking at the prices of new CAT's and MOSS sold them for £220 , but Minisport sells them for £110 and MiniSpares sells for £80.00 so if you ever need to buy one don't buy from MOSS !!

Okay, I have done a bit more research looking at old forum topics and on various websites and this is what I have come to:

RC40 ( Millenium Range ): Is the "tried and tested" exhaust that produces the best performance and is quiet compared to other aftermarket exhausts but does get loud at high rev ranges. ( £113.63 - Mini Spares )

PlayMini: The original stainless steel mini exhaust producers, they have excellent build quality and are very loud, regarded as the best looking exhausts. ( £130.50 - PlayMini Website )

Maniflow: Regarded as one of the favourites for aftermarket mini exhausts, considered louder that RC40 but not as loud as PlayMini's. Again as with PlayMini they are built well and are top quality. ( £124.87 - Mini Sport [When in Stock] )

I know im taking a lot of time to choose but I want to make sure I get the right one, my current thinking is that since I will be running a standard LCB, Y-Link pipe and CAT ( for a few years ) it will take some of the volume out of the exhaust compared to a full system inc. de-CAT. So im falling on the Maniflow/Play Mini options. Depending on how easy Maniflow are to fit and when they come into stock will depend on which system I actually get in the end ( I have emailed Mini Sport for info ).

Firstly I would like to say sorry from bringing this thread back from the second page.

After much research and a lot of emails I decided yesterday (Wednesday) to purchase an exhaust. I decided I wanted PlayMini and ordered from their website directly: LINK

I had a few problems with their website so I decided to ring them up, they were extremely helpful and sorted the problem out in less than 5mins. This morning (Thursday) about 9.30ish the door went and the exhaust was here!

It was really well packed ( took me 10mins to get it open :) ) and the quality is really good. Here are some pictures as it is at the moment. Sorry for the bad quality phone pic and the dirty kitchen floor xD

To sum up, all the people I spoke to have been really helpful at Mini Spares, Maniflow and PlayMini so I would reccomend their customer service. However I was/am blown away at how quick the PlayMini exhaust took to arrive, can't wait to fit it now! :D
