Car Stuck At The Ring....

They had breakdown cover for the car, got it put on the back of a truck and hoped theyd see it in england in a few days.
now for some technicalities....
the company then argued the cost would be more than the car is worth so didnt want to bring it back, whilst they were fighting to say it wasnt a standard car and is worth more than what the recovery company say it is..... the company went online, found a nice couple of photos of it on the ring, and said that would void the cover completely.
The car is now with the company, and its storage costs.... refusing to bring it home.
Any ideas of how to get it back?
cant take our car over and tow back due to weight restrictions.....
any ideas....fire away.......

What car is stuck over there? A mini or something else? What weight restrictions do you have? Might be able to help.
106 rallye.... the car we have to use to tow can only tow 600kg, the car weighs dead on 800kg
and yeah it does void it, it didnt break down on the ring.... it was recovered from the hotel but they found photos of it at the ring the day before so void it

Alot of forgien recovery companies can be very dodgy, asking for the logbooks etc when towing the car away. You have to be carefull.
I would ring the RAC and ask them for the complaints procedure and the MD's email and postal address so you can raise your complaint. Normally gives the little sods on the phone a fright and they pass you to someone who actually wants to try help you.
As for getting photos off the internet of you been on the track, what should that matter? You called them the following day from your hotel , which is the point of breakdown as far as they should be concerned.

but the ring is a public high way ring them back up ask them if they still cover you on the M6 toll
haha already been done!! it didnt even break down there... so in other words, if you break down anywhere near a toll road, after youve driven on it, they wont cover you....
they found photos of the car on the ring a couple of days before, then said they wont cover the car at all..... and instead forward the charges RAC encurred in getting the car picked up from the hotel and taken to storage....
The small print for RAC says not to be taken on track and used in competitive manner... netiher of which it has done.. but they still void cover....
The car has now been left in the storage, and everyone returned to england due to ferrey crossings etc

so basicly it's almost pointless getting breakdown cover
YEP exactly that, though tecnically it is a toll road, as many other roads are, because of its status they use small print to get out of covering you. having called RAC using a different name, and telling them I intend to go to the ring and drive on it theyll read out the small print ( which says you arent covered it you drive on a track or use in a competitive manner nothig about toll roads), they are happy to cover you if you are happy with the small print, though they know full well they wont cover you.
The other issue being that it didnt break down on the ring, but at the hotel, so if the car has been on a track /toll road, whatever.... theyl still refuse to cover you, and search online for photos to get out of paying out.....
It seems to be incredibly miss leading
