going around saying people who are involved in RTC's are dicks isnt a very good thing to do.

I think one of the crash video's looked to me like the dummy copped a chestful of steering wheel. Maybe I'll paint my mini bright yellow and drive around under 38 mph the whole time

I've also seen someone after a similar crash at similar speeds in a 205 that had a 4 point harness.
The 3 point left a big burn mark across the chest and bruising.
The 4 point left a little bruise on one side. If it had been adjusted equaly they may have get away without a bruise completly.
I know I'd rather go into a nice wide web harness than a thin 3 point inertia seatbelt.

no, most arnt really, how would you react if someone came round a blind corner at 80mph on the wrong side of the road? or if a lorry swerved into your lane on the motorway because it was LHD and you were trying to overtake with no power? or if you were rear ended because the person behind wasnt concentrating and you didnt have any room infront of you to increase the gap?
going around saying people who are involved in RTC's are dicks isnt a very good thing to do.
think you got the wrong end of the stick, driving like a dick does cause RTA's - i didn't say the recipient of the dicks action is a dick just the dick who caused it in the first place so your lorry driver is a dick for not looking (or not having the right mirrors or cameras) , your blind corner at 80mph driver is a dick and the person who rear ended you is a dick.
Particular dicks of note are people (when driving) using their mobile phones (texting or calling), reading maps while driving, driving too close and generally not concentrating on what their doing.......ie ..... piloting a lethal weapon.

They also didn't bother when putting the Metro together 20 years down the road. I don't think a collapsible column is as critical on a Mini, because of its angle you're not as likely to meet it end on in a bump. It's also unsupported for a fair old length above the mounting bracket creating a lot of leverage.
Really, well I've seen first hand what a solid steering wheel column does in a mini in a hard frontal actually it wasn't even that hard, the engine moves back an inch collects the steering rack and then the whole lot fires back into your chest jaw area. The column itself you don't hit but the steering wheel is more than strong enough to make a real mess of you

ok well, ignoring other drivers then, say livestock ran into the road...you going to call a cow a dick now? im sure they know better
its all about anticipation and reading the road, narrow country lanes are not for speeding down, round here there are several commons with free roaming cattle etc and still people manage to run into them despite a 40mph limit, it can't exactly be the cows fault can it?, it doesnt know the danger , so whos the dick?
whatever happens its always someones fault somewhere along the line , theres no such thing as an act of god, its like blaming someone for slamming their anchors on to avoid a cat or dog, if someone runs into the back of them then they are to blame because they were too close.
sorry if you don't agree but i've driving for 33 years and have seen and heard it all
