Jeez that escalated quickly!!

I think it was the potential for someone to modify their brakes and leave them in an unsafe condition. Not something that can be ignored. As mentioned above ANYONE posting in this section must be sure that advice they give isn't dangerous. If they are unsure they must clearly state that in their response.

I should have said, i havent had a good look at my car, the shields are indeed held on by the calipers but i am sure there is a third bolt on the hub?

can confirm that the shields are secured by a third bolt attached separately
