I used to build my own gaming PC's but got really fed up with the occassional "incompatability" issue between the components where I had no comeback on anyone, in the end I bought a base unit from Novatech with a good spec and havn't looked back since, it developed a fault on the motherboard so they took it back replaced it all postage paid no probs. Any minor issues since I've resolved using their online tech and email service despite the fact its over three years old now, latest problem was with Vista crashing on SP1 - big surprise there then! and they sent me a recovery disc pronto. I bit the bullet and wiped Vista and clean installed W7 - wow thats what Vista should have been all along - fast, smooth and stable just like a properly developed version of XP.
Bottom line is building your own is fun and can be cheaper but its really worth checking out Novatech to see how much their boxes cost, if they go wrong they will sort it out, and you still upgrade the grafix without affecting the warranty
