i pay £600 on my dads name
haha
with his no claims bonus too

You may think it's haha but it is illegal and classed as fraud by the insurance companies. Both you and your father could find yourselves without any cover if you have an accident. I suggest you read these articles carefully and reconsider your choice of policy.

This is only the case if the named driver is found to be driving the car more than the policy holder, I have been told on several occasions by people at insirance companys why dont you put your mum in as the policy holder and you as the named driver (to which I was slightly shocked as I would be driving the car more than her) but I'm currently a named driver on my dads bmw and I take it out most evenings but it's still all legal as my dad does marginally more driving in it than me :)

I'm the main driver on my Mondeo, my other half and dad are also named drivers, and having my dad on the policy makes it 15 quid a year cheaper ?!?!?!!? He's driven the car less than 10 miles this year!

Well.. i have to say i realised the other day i hadn't actually checked my current insurer. HIC gave me a new quote of £580 tpft, which while not bad, still seems pretty steep. Especially for a classic, with only a 1.8 engine, and not a powerful one at that.

Mind, i am only 22, which is the sad fact why my premiums are so high :D Also knocks me out of the running with the majority of performance/classic insurance specialists. The Nissan it seems.. is uninsurable at a reasonable price.
