>_< Seriously though, little front tyres would look good on one of your Polo's, but on a big car like the passat, nah. Balloons all the way >_<

We (as a family) used to have the GTi or maybe a GL Version I believe and then went onto buying a 1.9D... (the diesel one had electric mirrors, windows, fogs the lot)

Bullet proof until finally the engine started giving up - so we moved onto a B5 (1.9TDi 110BHP Saloon) and now we have a B5.5 (1.9TDi 130BHP Estate) and a B6/3C (2.0TDi 140BHP Estate) - before the 3B we even had a B2 (1.6 Petrol Estate) - you can see the pattern here :D

When modified properly they can look the dogs balls :D

hey pete cool looking passat, love the steelies. im affraid you cant remap the passat as its a td not a tdi,its worth checking all yr vacuum pipes, like the one that goes to turbo actuator, all those small pipes perish and can colapse. i think that year also has a boost control valve, they can give trouble.follow pipe from turbo actuator back, should go to a valve with 2 wire multi-plug. couple of things you can try....

Hello pretty, no not yet, the car is ******* me off so I'm not treating it to the new plates until it starts behaving itself. It's not starting atm, glow plug problem I think, ordered some, just waiting for the bloody things to turn up.

Other than that I have fitted clear indicators, a decent head unit, and have put a packet of raspberry fizz bonbons in the cubby hole in front of the gear lever. I have also ordered a new C clip for the gear linkage, as I realised one was entirely missing, which might explain why changing gear was an experience akin to stirring coal with a length of spaghetti.

Cheers man. Yes I figured as much myself. I will trace all the pipes etc at the weekend, see if any are perished or look dodgy.

I thought it might have been the air flow meter, but after a while trying to find it, I realised it didn't have one.

Well, I've at last sorted the problem! I fitted new glow plugs, which sorted the starting problem, then I spent a couple of weeks trying to figure out the power loss and random stalling problem.. The last owner had fitted a new fuel line to the pump, but never removed the old one, and had mistakenly refitted the old one thinking it was the return pipe.. So the return pipe wasn't connected at all. It is now MUCH faster, and doesn't stall at every junction. The difference is amazing. To treat it, I fitted my new pressed number plates, and clear indicators.. oh and some beefier tyres for the front.

Also bought a mascot in the form of a squeezable elephant aerial topper..

The Polo in the background was my winter daily from last year, still going strong!

I have decided not to slam it, it's very usable as it is, and I think looks pretty cool anyway.

Deal. Lets get to Haggis land, bring a crow bar.

Looks tidy as Pete. Did it come with slippers or did you purchase those seperately?

Oi! enough of your plotting, you slaags. I was gonna slam it and even started to save up for coil overs, but the council tax bill seemed more important. If it gets me through the winter I'll likely keep it, so it may get slightly closer to the weeds in the summer >_< 5 stud adaptors and polished Porsche D90 rims as well please, Santa.

Sounds good Mikey, I'd love to try a properly fast one of these!
