Mine has 20w 50 and 2 oil leaks lol shoulds it be totally mineral or semi-synthetic? in older bikes semi was always best but bikes like Ducatis always ran fully synthetic and it was shells top stuff cost a bomb to!
Do they say on tin semi etc as i found some motorbike oils were a bit elusive on what they were!

theres nothing wrong with using fully synthetic oil in mini's providing it's a motorbike oil, and has loads of zddp in, and unfortunately there bloody hard to come by and flipping expensive.
the valvoline racing 20w50 is the shizniz.
as for the 10w40 or 20w50 debate, rover and austin specified that for warranty purposes mini's must be run on 10w40 oil, now this was back in the time when oil was nasty stuff and pretty much all oils had loads of zinc deposits in to help coat the engine internals and keep them strong.
the problem today is that for emissions reasons all the zinc and other crap now has to be filtered out of the oil, (another reason oil has gone up in cost as it takes longer to produce)
so the answer is to run a good qaulity 20w50 oil, the reason for this is that they still have all the old stuff in the oil that protects the internals as modern engines dont use 20w50

No, I use air-tool-oil in the carb except in hot weather when I use a 5w40 grade.
