I did this with friend once on his escort wheels. The seal was great but we didn't do a very good job of spreading the silicone and it really upset the balance. :shy:  I'm sure you've already thought of this.

Yes, done a few times now without any issues re balance. Split rims seemingly more picky when it comes to balance, but have managed so far ( famous last words)

use a penny/coin to spread the silicone on it, it works!

Broken cover …… 6 months later

He’s out , gave him a quick wash … went for a drive (shakedown ) with family and friends - lovely day

Held water temp , wheel didn’t fall apart, no leaks , gear-lever precise and not flopping around…. Just need to tweak Rev limiter lights to a lower rpm, but all in great jobs done

Car bits

Is it shiny?
Can I fit it in seconds without tools?
Can I buy it on eBay the early hours of the morning?
Is it something I don’t really need ?

Yeah, go on then

Repainted lettering on tyres …. Of which now are getting to an age when I need to think about replacing .

Had 15 year old tyres on another mini and they were like hard plastic ! Tyre fitter struggled to actually get them off the rims!

parts of painted trim ( faux wood) have reacted again … bubbles/ blisters ( after 4 years of being painted) . Last time had a section repainted … now blistering on a different section (s) . Have been thinking about getting the trim vinyl wrapped , if it can be done properly / neatly enough to look like ‘paint’ . Panels are riveted on and chrome trim / clips are fragile at best so would have to be done in situ. Obviously if not prepped properly , would blister underneath vinyl and ‘show’ ….. still thinking this through
