Daytime Running Led's

apart from purists crying over drilling out some innocenti headlight surrounds..........am I likely to get my collar felt ? bearing in mind audis, mercs and some skodas / vws now have daytime running led's
they wouldnt be Uber-Bright, just small 5mm LED's

I agree. Anyone know if its true that day time running lights are to become mandatory on new models in a year or 2? Not sure where I heard this. I might have made it up.
If it's true then in a 5 or 10 years there'll be lots of e marked ones in the scrappies.

can't see anything in there that says you can't although you may want to check the amendments to make sure.
people have been campaigning to make marker lamps compulsory, but I don't believe it's been approved yet.

i think as long as they aren't blinding people, and go off when the headlights come on, then they are legal

if they were blue or any colour other than white, they'd definitely be illegal.Who cares, it looks sweet as!

From what I can gather it is only illegal to have red lights on the front of a car, blue lights are ok but only if they do not flash (clicky), I'm sure i've seen this subject (light colours) pop up on the police forums

My dads new car comes on the 3rd, and the spec doesn't include DRL

My dads got them in his A4, and they certainly stop people pulling out on you at junctions etc, which would be especially usefull in a Mini

The running lights do look nice on the right car though
