Not sure about colour yet, I originally wanted it red and white, but I'm also wondering about old english white with a black roof and door spots- love that colour scheme! Need to trawl through some pics to find something I like. Once I have done the bodywork I should be welding in a full rollcage, then paint it!

same colour as mine have a look and see what you think of mine dudeee good look with it all mate

Heres some of the bits I've weighed so far, my medium size scales have gone missing so need to replace them, also the car was mainly stripped down when I got it so there will be loads of bits I will miss.
Sound deadening on floor and rear quarters- 9kg
Seam trims x4- 100g each
Clips for above- 30g
Rear seat belt mounts x2- 500g each
Rear side bins ally trimx2- 30g each
Ash tray box 105g
Bits of foam throughout the car x8- 4.5g each
Seat catch floor brackets x2- 272g each
Rear seat front- approx 900g
Rear bins x2- approx 900g each
Inside roof trim- approx 900g

Total 14.775kg, which is 2.5% of the total vehicle weight. I still have all the door cards, doors, seats, panels to weigh yet so loads to do...

Thought I would knock this up again, not a lot of progress lately as struggled to find the time, but have cleaned all the gunk from the floor etc, and bought a few bits and pieces! Will get some more pics uploaded soon, but so chuffed with these brakes I bought from Elisha-the-Cooper on the forum here :)

The alloy calipers weigh in at 1.1kg each, I have a set of "S" calipers too which weigh 2.8kg each! With my alloys this means I save about 4kg already from each of the front wheels, and probably a similar amount on the rears when I fit alloy drums :)

Top marks for this, being a sometimes obsessive weight-watcher myself you are doing work that I have seen nowhere else! Helps me a lot and potentially saves me from a series of error through trial. If this continues, you keep posting the weight of all things of your build, this is definitely a thread to be pinned. Keep the weights coming!

Thanks! I have a page of weights written down but left in the workshop! I also will be missing LOADS as when I got the car half the bits were missing, but I'm sure some other can help me there :)

You pulled all the stengthening out, to save the weight?
Or is it going to be a silhouette space frame car?

I was hoping this wouldn't turn into a "you shouldn't have done that" thread.....

I said in a post earlier that I know I'm going against the grain by removing a lot of what I have, but I will be re-introducing (hopefully far more) strength with a welded in multi-point cage, and a swaged/beaded aluminium rear bulkhead which will be bonded and rivited all round the edge along with more bracing etc where needed. So basically somewhere between space framed and a normal cage.

Yes i did read that, but i didn't say you shouldn't.
I'm just confused why you cut it all out to put it back in.
