i tend to only watch things im going to enjoy, hence why ive never watched a single second of deperate housewifes.
if you think what they do is wrong or dangerous im sure theres some sort of television governing body who'd be very interested...

this happens in the real world without a camera all the time!
Nothing they done hasn’t already been repeated in supposedly professional garages for years. It’s a simple case of fix something up or bodge it for the least amount of money to keep the customer happy and thinking that have got a good deal out of it.

I'll use the mk1 mini thay did as an exampleexactly as I say! just you would of thought maybe being on TV....you might try and make it a little less obvious!
couldnt agree more... considering how hyped up edd chinas skills are... im pretty sure he couldve reskinned a door? lolLike chopping out both a panel skins and only replacing the outer bottom half a panel using a full panel to start with. Then digging out a load of filler in the door only to go and replace it with yet more filler.
and that mk1 had a friggin MAHOOSIVE hole in the boot floor under the tank... wonder what the did about that eh?
Think of just how much work it is to remove the door chop out both a panels and then replace them all again, the panels would probably set you back £30 or £40 plus a good day or more worth or of work. Or £6 for an a panel that you chop in half and weld over the most rotten section.
The filled dent in the door, again it would take a heck of a lot longer to reskin a door properly as well as the extra cost of a door skin. Than to just slap a £20 worth tin of filler over the dent, beside the door card will cover/hide the dent from the inside and some shine paint will cover the outside.
As for the hole behind the fuel tank, yep its in within 30cm of a structural mounting. BUT because its hidderen behind the fuel tank and come mot time the tester can’t see it, it passes, so no need to bother fixing something that’s not seen.

And ed knows his stuff, he has his own fabrication company or something, called yellow fish or some daft name like that. He makes all the cars for top gear still.

I like the programme, much better than shouting cockneys, moaning mancs, screaming teenies and drooling OAPs.
thought the moke one was good, not much to do and it was left pretty standard, liked the look of the wrapped mini and the older green one looked lovely. Best one for me was the old blue Beetle, worst was the off road disco.

I did not agree that a Moke with a side mounted rad should be fitted with only an electric fan but I won't loose sleep over it or refuse to watch in future. The series helps raise the profile of older cars like the Mini with the general public rather than them just seeing them as old 'bangers' as modern motorists often do.......
