Right proper update time!

The flasher units are in and the washer pump is wired up and all the exhaust brackets were fitted.

Then Ross came over and we started to build up the rear suspension.

On the passenger side everything went in well and rather quick. Heres Ross doing that.

Then we tried to do the driver side and found some problems.

One of the captive nuts are missing off the subframe and the rest of the bolt holes did not seem to line up at all well with the camber brackets.

Now I am still unsure on what to do about this. I really do not want to be taking the rear subby off if i can help it so any suggestions would be great.

One thing I did get done was get the tyres fitted to the wheels!

I also got the rash fitted.

and although I could not drop her down on her wheels I thought I would do a cheeky test fit anyway. I put the back box on as well to see what it looked like.

Also my new trick bonnet hinges came today so I'll have ago and fitting those the weekend and see what they are like.

so thats it for the time being. I am kinda stuck and not sure where to go from here. I wanted to get the engine in this weekend but don't really want do to that before its on its wheels.

Bloody Minis!

Will be as long as I can work out a way of doing that subframe without taking the subframe off

Bonnet still need some adjusting to get it to fit right but I think they are great!

Subframe is being dropped 2moz which is a bummer but will be fixed in the week.

Ross is over again 2moz gonna chance the shocks on his GFs polo but after that I am hoping this subframe will come off easy and I can then get some other bits done. Fingers crossed for good weather and better luck then I have been having recently!

I'm gonna take it off and get new nuts welded on properly. I'll just annoy myself if I don't do it properly.

And where did you get those hinges from?

A company called Minivation if you get some I recommend the buying them the same way I did. Put your card details in and just skip past the bit where it tells you how much they cost.

Right well yesterday I was up and out in the garage by 8 in the morning tidying up sorting some bits out. I cleaned up the horn and accelerator pedal and gave them a quick spray in stone chip.

Then Ross turned up and we replaced the front shocks on his GFs polo which took a good chunk of the day.

Then after we had done that the rear subframe came off.

10354073_10152997389599848_5356884105574

Today my old man dropped it to my mates farm with the camber brackets to he can line it all up and weld the nuts in the right place. Hopfully it should be done within the week. My next day off is Monday so hopefully it will be done so I can get it back on then.

Then last night my mate Alex popped over to route thought the garage and buy some bits but we ended up cracking on with the mini and got the new paddle box and accelerator pedal on with out braking any studs and fitting the brakes and clutch cylinders. I think he left about half 11 so I had a long day haha.

I know the subframe coming off was a bit of a backwards step but I kinda feel better knowing its gonna get sorted properly now.

I'm on evenings this week which I hate as I never get much done but I'm gonna try and find some head studs this week and get the head bolted on the engine so I can get it in. I managed to find the oil filter housing and thermostat housing when sorting out the garage so those are all little odd jobs I can get on with.

I think thats about it for now. Cheers.
