Door Catch And Lock Freezing?

If you're ever stuck with nothing to defrost a frozen lock, having a wee on it works! Not so easy for the ladies to do of course, and not recommended if there's lots of people about.


Well, funny thing, was stuck about 4 miles from home yesterday, and this was one of the things that went through my mind. But I resisted!!! Hahaha.

If your doors are welding themselves to the door seals, what i have done in the past on my work van is smear abit of grease on the rubber seal, and it doesn;t seem to freeze so bad... I don't know if this damages the seal though, so it might be worth seeing if some one comes along and corrects me :goaway:


Yup oil will eventually degrade the rubber :D You can get rubber and nylon lubricant, that's the stuff to use. Works well on locks as well, incidentally.



AHAH! I had suspicions that someone would correct me on that :D
