edit: ohh just noticed you are from greece, do you think Mr Issigonis took it back to the motherland, for himself possibly while visiting relatives? lol

Are you planning a full restore on it? Will we see you this in a magazine some time soon?

Well, I intend to do a full restoration, of the slow and very careful type.
It will be difficult finding parts for it as most of the panelwork, chrome and interior is bespoke.
When I finish I would like to show the car . Maybe at Mini 55 or 60.

This example was featured in Mini World recently and put in an appearance on their stand at the Gaydon Mini Festival this year.

Please email Keith Adams editor/creator of AROnline forum asap. ('kadams1970' on AustinRover Online forum) He has friends/contacts who can hopefully help you with saving the Beach Car Mini.

Edit: Update,
Looks like a happy ending! According to new owner 'Reymondos'.....he has posted today on AustinRoverOnline forum 'In the News'

"Finally Success.
The car was saved, but I had to remove the chassis number plate and a considerable sum.
From now on, the only way is up.
Right now I am having the squashed roof section beaten into shape."

The car is now in the paint shop. The body will be painted in the original blue colour.

The seats are being re-covered in wicker.

I am thinking of what to do with the interior of my beach car.

All colour pictures of cars all seem wrong to me.

I only have a very low resolution reference photo of my car with sir Alec blocking part of the interior

and good B/W promo picture of a production Beach car.

When I got the car the interior was all in baby blue.

So the questions are....

1) What colour should the dash, columns and headlining be?
2) What is the most period correct type of material?
3) Should I cover the top and bottom dashrail?
4) What is your opinion on Newton Commercial products?

Thank you.

i would keep it in the colours you found it, i doubt the colours would have been changed cus it looks a big job and if you contact retro retrims or bert998 on here, they do headlings and stuff and it all looks very good quality and ive heard alot of good things about them, i am extremely jealous at the moment, i read a thread on here about this car and the small feature in mini magazine

good luck with restoring it :withstupid:

Received the finished front seats yesterday. Two of the most important parts of this car. Did a trial fit today. They fit. They will stand out more when the body gets a coat of paint..

The car is finally primered. It is one of my favorite stages of a restoration, along with a freshly painted shell, applying chrome details, and the first time it starts up.

Loving the front grill, it looks really different. Good to see they got that roof straightened too. Keep up the good work!
