Right well some of you will have seen my other thread with pics on my new car. Her Names Alice and shes an 1979 Mini Clubman Saloon.

Heres some pics of how she looked before I did anything to her.

And here with my other mini Jenny.

Right. My I don't want to do too much to this as I want to spent most of my money on my other mini I just really want to tidy her up a bit and fix a few niggles.

Anyway the few bits I'v done today.

I'v put some standard rear lenses on the rear. I had these laying around in one of the boxes of spares I have so no cost what so ever which is nice. I also found 1 mk2 rear light cluster while looking for these. If I have one for the other side I may end up putting some mk2 lights on her.

But for now pics.

I defo think the colored one looks better.

I also changed the door handles to some plastic ones. Lucky enough their were some on the doors I bought for my other car so I used these so again no extra cost. One of the door handles was missing but I managed to find one in one of my boxes.

Again I think it looks much better.

Thats about it really. Few other bits are. Change the speedo, Remove quick shift and put a normal shifter in, fit seat brackets so I can actually drive it without my knees touching my ears, fit a new headlining and find out my the flash and horn arnt working.

Thanks for reading.

Oooh, nice find, from the pics you've put up it looks in good nick.

I have to say I agree with your choice of coloured rear lenses and the plastic interior. What was with the decision to get another mini as well as Jenny - is it her gearbox that means she's off the road at the mo, or other stuff too?

Well Jenny was my first car so she means alot to me. She only cost £670 so as you can images was far from perfect. Each MOT she had had patches welded in places. Her wiring was a mess and she had a problem keeping the water in her rad. Not to mention her paint job which wasn't to hot either. So when her gearbox went I just thought now would be a good time to take her off the road for the resto she deserves.

Well it depends really. If I used the car on track or on a drag strip maybe. For what I use it for which is a daily drive to work and college where I dont go past 50 and most of the time I'm in a que of traffic anyway its a tad pointless. Plus I just like the feel of a normal shifter. Just a preference thing really theirs nothing wrong with it. I'll just sell it on a make me some funds for the headlining.

Are those the type with the swinging type handles? If you know what I mean. Anyway the only reason those handles went on is cause I already had them laying around so no cost what so ever.

And yea I'm taking the GT clocks out. I dont think they work lol. I dunno if its the clocks or the wiring or what. But my fuel gauge always reads full and my rev counter and speedo don't work. So I was planning on putting the speedo from my red mini in it as thats gonna have a center clock in it when its done.

I may get some swing ones if I can find some cheap ish as a show. Not really thought about what to do with the clocks depends what the problem turns out to be I guess. I'll get one of my mates who actually electrics to take a look at it and see if they can find out what's wrong with it. If your interested in them and I do decided to sell I'll let you know.
