i run a piper 649+ race cam, in my mini which i use everyday, not much power or torque below 3k, but there is a fair amount over 3-3.5k, all the way to 8k, although she does rev to 9 :gimme: Duration for the piper 649+ is 300 inlet / 312 exhaust.

Final drive ratio is also an important decision you need to make.

I think you'd get away with a higher duration cam, a 296 in a 7 port would be more drivable than in a 5 port, if you want to play it safe use a 286. That's what I think anyway.

Hey all , I just put a Pierce Manifolds 7 port head on an A+ 1360 , ported+polished, Russell Engineering 73mm Pistons and 266 cam , 1.5 r rollers, 2 X DHLA Dellortos. Made 90.4 hp ATW @ 5870 rpm ,118kph . 3rd gear , 3.1 diff.

Pretty happy with that. Needs a new exhaust and probably a bigger cam like an RE13 would be nice. Megajolt ign would also be nice in the future.

Cheers.

Look at you all with your big wallets, tempting us otherlings with lesser funds. Some nice figures there, interesting reading what your views on Cams are. Have you got any further with your decision yet?
