I escaped from a council estate 30+ years ago as did most of my pals from the time. We all went to a good school, worked hard and went to various universities, I don't think any of us were vandals, stole anything or wrecked anyones property. We womanised, played music, got drunk and had lots of normal fun.
Would I go back - never, am I proud of my council house roots - yes.
there are scum bags everwhere!
chin up - you are better than they are, you have a life!

I live in a council est there are alot of good people around here but there are a few that are not. My mini does not go out of my sight these days after a friends garage got broken into and 2 days later got ram raided with a transit van because they were after his mini. I have now put my mini in my back garden behind a 6 foot fence wrapped up under a cover i would rather it rust than get damaged/stolen. As said above there scumbags everywere and it drives me mad it seems that these days you cant have anything without some scumbag stealing it or damaging it
etc

I know how it feels dude. Light fingered scum. Hope they get whats coming to them
Car crime like this is normally low priority. In the unlikely event they do get caught there will be very little coming to them...................at worst a fine that won't be paid or some community service, hence why so much of this now goes on..........

And the normal response is just to claim and let the insurance sort it, witch then screws you for the next few years when the insurance premiums go up.

I wonder what effect, on crimes like these, if the birch was reintroduced!

Id much rather them have smashed my window than cut through my sunroof, glass is inexpensive to replace, a fabric britax sunroof isnt

i think you got away lightly though, they stole my headunit, my amp, ruined the boot lining kit id just put in trying to steal my sub, in the daytime, it was less than 24 hours old

They even stole my bmw mini bonnet badge!
Phone the police though mate, if theyve done a few cars, likelyhood is theyve been caught before, and will be caught again. Dont take it into your own hands as much as youd like to.
The scum who broke into my car got caught, and i got an insurance payout, and they were ordered to do community service, appeared in court and to pay £250 each compensation, which i recieved in full. Good things can happen!
