Touchwood I've been lucky, because since 1992, nobody has broken into my car.

But it still boils my ******* that someone thought to damage the door paint on my old Metro Turdo attempting to steal the gap where I couldn't actually afford a stereo.

neighbours just knocked my door to tell me their cars been broken into, and ive got a window missing and might want to check it out, great, i go running outside, windows been put through, and my headunits been nicked, and theres bits of broken glass everywhere! Some people need castrating then shooting! Im guessing itll be something to do with the scum from the council estate which is right near the what was once a nice private estate i live on, weve caught shitbags tampering with cars in our close numerous times before.

Feel better now, rant over!

so private estates dont have scum on them . sorry about your car but DON'T tar everyone from council estates with the same brush you get scum anywere you know

I don't have the figures, but I 'feel' there's probabally a direct mathematical correlation between home ownership and levels of crime. But mathematical relationships don't make for causation.

I believe you are correct in the statement (and i'll rewrite it for you) that most people in council housing are nice honest people. Unfortunately a larger proportion of the immoral and criminally intent population are unlikely to be able to afford 'nice' housing. But that doesn't mean that 'nice' places don't have crime, and drugs, and vandalism.

What causes 'nastyness' is more likely to be poor parenting, and poor parenting leads to poor morals, not caring about the difference's between right and wrong, low educational achievement, low employability, low life expectations and a cycle that turns into poor parenting again. Poor parents tend to fall back on state support (council housing etc) so it's likely that the 'scum' end up tarring council estates with a pretty bad brush.

And if you are a victim, it's hard not to generalise.

What we need to focus on is how not to become a victim.

Garage, Alarm, Immobiliser, hidden fuel cut off switch, cheap stereo, no valubles in the car, crocklock, etc.

Also : How many would consider joining the Neighbourhood watch ?
