Where would the gear lever end up???

The gear lever would end up wherever you want it. One of my reasons for leaning towards keeping an A-Series in there is that it's a compact engine so turned through 90 degrees and moved as far forwards as the bonnet/front panel would allow the standard gear-lever on a type-9 should be in an acceptable position but there are kits to bolt on so that it can be moved forwards or backwards from the original position on the gearbox if it falls too far back for comfort.
Prop length isn't a problem so long as the angles of the UJ's aren't too tight. This was one of my reasons for planning an independant rear setup as I could accomodate any necessary drop in height between the tail of the box and the hubs partly with the prop and partly with the rear halfshafts rather than having to do it all in one go and maybe forcing a joint through too accute an angle.

I've got 'til august to decide because I should be getting some money for my 18th. I've seen people carb a zetec so that could be an option if I go with the zetec. Or leave it on injection and a remap. Hmmmm
Ah this would be Spud the Lightning Rod driver then !!!

Just lob a pinto lump in it, afterall if that what you want/have available, then go for it. If at a later stage you change your mind, you already have the basis for cosworth power.

I agree, I mean a 2L Hotrod on the road isn't gonna be slow!

I raced Lightning Rods for a few meeting a couple of years ago, a white one with green bumpers (363)
I'm usually in the pits at most meetings with Neil Wollington and Mike Daniels
I've got a mini I want to build, just constructing the garage in order to do so
