as for the rope, could you not use a tow rope sprayed/dyed red?
or your local junior school gym, my junior school had them on those wall mounted climbing frames, ---- this option is a joke.

I thought of a tow rope but my local halfords was out of stock. Might have to hit up the local petrol stations but then i cant use a staff/trade card.
