just wondering what your guys cruising speeds are on the motorway, mine is 50mph where the engine seems quite ish,
what final drive should i have?
its a 1988 city

I don't have a tacho so have no idea what mine is revving at but my cruising speed is around the 65 - 70mph range. 1982 standard 998cc

Would have helped to work out what diff it had.

Although I think I’m right in saying the city had the 2.9 diff, same as the 25, I know cursing in mine at 60 it’s ticking over at 3k.

mini cruises at about 70 at revs of about 4000
mine doesnt do motorways that much atm though

cant remember the final drive, think its around 3.44 but may be completely wrong!

In my 998cc I tend to do 60-70 on the motorway.

70 isn't speeding. Plus i'm booking my test at the weekend anyway

My 998 used to cruise smoother and quieter at 80mph (speedo indicated) than it did at 70mph on the motorway. That was with a 3.44 fd, now with a 3.1, it sits very happy at 75-80 with the 1275.
