[Mini Adam]

That had to go back to the company yesterday, so whilst his dad isn't at work and waiting for another car my mate has got this for a few weeks. He is one lucky 17 year old I say one lucky 17 year old, one dad with a good business

I dont see it as his car. Its his dads.

Even if his dad gave it to him, I wouldnt feel any envy or give him "credibility" for what he is driving. he hasnt earnt it.

thats true. I am a strong believer in the learning curve. Even if a kid wins the lotto, or bag himself a loan to buy a car I dont think people should be let out in cars without paying their dues in something slow/controllable first. Its not just kids (more so kids because they tend to be more immature) but even if an adult hasnt ever driven before, they should be made to drive something "slow" first. Like the bike tests, restricted for the first few years then opened up after you have spend a few years driving / ridding (direct access is dangerous for bikes and I dont think it should be allowed!) And if someone has an accident that was their fault in that time, they have to start all over again.

Depends how sensible the 17 year old is. In the Us, my 16 year old daughter drives a Dodge Neon but also has access to a Ford Expedition (5.4 litre) and a Viper.

I started a thread to get peoples opinions on this. I'm not jealous, but let's be honest, despite what everyone may say or think, they'd prefer to have this as their first car for a few weeks wether they felt they'd earnt it or not..

Anyone remember the thread on a BMW forum and the young lad that had an M5???? and no one believed him... then there was a news report of a millionaires son dying in a car crash in an M5??? turns out it was the same lad.... yep his dad was a very caring dad! now what made me think of that.....

PS now I'm older I wouldn't wanted someone to give me a car... I work for the things I want in life!

I'd feel like a total twunt, people would laugh and would rightly assume I was not paying for/insuring/fuelling it.
