try being in the army then you'll know what banter is. You cant do anything without getting ripped for it. And there are some jokes we make which only squaddies would laugh at to

Britain can never have a laugh. People just love to moan and are wound up too tight - I want to get out of this country ASAP!

i dont think its the brits, if you go into a local pub you can guarentee the people in there will be laughing and messing about over a pint or two! i think its the officials, everything has to have a protocol! why cant a bobby give a little swine a slap round the head for nicking sweets!? i bet that would sort them out, and we wouldnt have to have asbos if they could!

I agree, but unfortunately if they were allowed to do that then there would always be some psycho idiot copper who took things too far and would beat a kid to death! There would then be a huge public outcry and it would soon all get banned again. Plus the fact all the studies by the so called experts claim that there is a proven link between corporal punishment in children and violent behavior in adult life, so it simply would never be allowed to happen.

I was still at school toward the end of the corporal punishment era. It had all worked fine for generations, but then at my school there was this particularly evil & twisted, psycho of a teacher, who had to go and take things too far and one day. He went and stabbed a kid with the pointy end of a pair of those massive blackboard compasses! :o

Needless to say, that incident marked the end of corporal punishment in my particular school and it was banned nationally about a year or so later! Like most things in life, it only takes few idiots to ruin things for everyone else

It's only assualt if you leave a mark 'n you can still use physical restraint to prevent them harming themselves or others. So making them wear a blindfold and guiding them along a busy road with a cattle prod should still be perfectly acceptable.

And what is it if you accidentally left a mark, but they asked you to do it in the first place?

So making them wear a blindfold and guiding them along a busy road with a cattle prod should still be perfectly acceptable.

It is. But most people pay top whack for that kind of treatment. (Soz about the pun. That was awful)
