I saw one yesterday and just cringed.. Why don't they call it what it really is, the BMW One.
Thanks,
Callum
They couldnt possibly do that! that would mean BMW selling a FWD car, which goes against their companys ethos! meaning that they would just big greedy fat sell outs!!!!!
oh wait!
that is what they have done!

This was a great looking mini when it was seen for the first time. It was if i remember for the anniversary of the mini rally wins. It was done under Rover prior to the sale to BMW. Fans from around the world demanded for it to be produced but typical Rover didnt listen and it never was, shame but again Rover was all talk and nothing else when it came to stuff like this. When BMW went with the relaunch they went with a totally new model.BMW still trying to win us classic mini fans over nice try BUT go back to the drawing board and make something like this...........
this is what BMW should make ..............![]()
I like this MINI and i think it will be a hit,

This is nearer to the production model as concepts never are when they come out. So much so i have been this afternoon and put a deposit on one for when they come out 2012/13 so i can be the first to have one.

"MINI introducing a step back to the future with the philosophy of 1959, built for 2011 and beyond."
Kpzug9EAFH0
From AustinRover Online:
MINI claims that the Rocketman Concept can accommodate four adults and there are three seating layouts. The front two seats move as far back as necessary and the instrument cluster also moves if only the driver and one passenger are in the car while, if a third passenger sits in the rear, the front passenger seat slides forward to provide more legroom in the back. A basic seat made of moulded carbonfibre and located behind the driver allows a fourth passenger to squeeze into the car for short journeys – but, in practice, that will obviously depend upon the driver’s height!
The MINI Rocketman Concept’s doors are double-hinged and so provide a wide opening while the sills form part of the doors which also aids access to the interior. The car’s boot consists of two parts: the upper section being a conventionial roof-hinged hatch and the lower being a drawer. The latter slides out up to 350mm from the body and, in an echo of the original Mini’s drop-down bootlid, the car can be driven with the drawer open – that allows skis, snowboards and other bulky sports equipment to be carried in special holders. However, whether the trick doors and the drawer survive into production remains to be seen…
The exterior design language of the Rocketman Concept hints at what can be expected from the next-generation MINI range (Mk3) – take particular note, then, of the more pronounced shaping of the front wings and bonnet, the LED-rimmed headlights and the new front graphic which combines the grille and driving lamps in a single unit.
MINI say that the Rocketman Concept will have a powertrain package capable of returning 94mpg but have otherwise been pretty tight-lipped on the subject of engines and transmissions. However, AROnline reckons that any production model will probably use the BMW Group’s upcoming range of three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.

My first thought was hmmm...but now I've watched the videos a few times I really like it.
Several parts I hate- the rear lights look like froggy eyes, the chest of drawers boot (what on earth?! It reminds me of eighties futuristic movies where everyone has tvs that slide out of the ground), the doors look a bit clunky, and agree with everyone who has said the wheels are too big.
I think it's an exciting looking little car though! It's nowhere near as pretty as the real mini it's parked next to of course

If anyone's interested here is a video of the interior:

I can honestly say that I DO NOT like anything to do with BINI as I do not recognise the brand as the evolved version of the classic Mini, maybe BMW should of evolved the classic style Mini with the K series engine and then moved the Mini into the 21st century.

+1. They are even trying to copy the classic with a Union Jack on the roof. Put the Euro flag on it, but not the Union Jack on a
german car.
