i think it's easy on a VW as there's not much engine showing anyway

although the wiring could be a lot tidier on that one :)

Thats not smoothing an engine bay its just tidying it. Tidying it does have a decent impact on your engine bay, although it doesn't have the same impact

smoothing the bay would be things like a wire tuck, and every little hole etc removed and smoothed over, have a look on some of the VW websites for inspiration, i believe there was a saxo floating around that ran throttle bodies so it looked cleaner in the bay!!

The engine bay on my estate's going to be really smooth. The hoses for the heater will pass through the cross member on the right, the M/Cs will be on the left of the cross member and that's all you'll see.

And another example

But what peddle box / master cyl setup can you use on a mini. I need to find a solution for my single line MC with MK1 style dash to do this.

One of these, with the reservoirs tucked under the bottom dash rail. It's what I'll be running it I can find the cash.

i know someone who had certain small problems in the design on the OBP pedelbox's not sure if the fault was fixed afterwards but it was a simple design oversight so i would imagin so, its why i didnt suggest it 1st off

smooth bay... not my thing unless its on a hotrod but then again i like a big oily engine lol.

would it be best to rewire the front of the car then instead of just lenghtening the igsisting wires?? it would make more sence to me to have it all fresh and with connectors easily accessable because after going through rerouting them it could be a pain to chase a fault??

the front 1/2 of the loom isnt very complex, it would be quite easy to make one from scratch if you wanted to be sure that all the wires werent bodged longer.

i like a mixture of the smoothing personaly, a nice clean engine bay, not necceasrily hiding things but everything in its place, wires nice and neatly wrapped in decent tubing/wrap all straight making sure wires dont cross over

how difficult would it be to make 1 of them pedal boxes?? surely it could be made from a couple of bits n pieces and thrown together!!

liking the smooth look and well hidden wiring, probably take to that look with the cooper

It wouldn't really be difficult but doing the design work would be quite time consuming, nothing's impossible.

How's this?

Master cylinders and wiper motor installed, all wiring will be hidden where possible, bulkhead has been smoothed where possible.

i like the sound of this smooth engine bay malarky. i have already hidden all the wires possible but to smooth it all to would be the extreme of tidiness.
