Never had any problems with them Arnie. I prefer them a lot more to rubber cones, they are a much less bouncy ride. Cant say Ive ever experoenced any banging. Are you sure your shockers arent bottoming out? Did you use the minitastic adjusta rides or another make?

yes mate, i had the lot from them. i noticed that there was only rubber bushes for the rear and not the front for some reason. my shocks where brand new gaz adjustables..

keep up the good work and i'll look forward to catching up with this project.

Finished degreasing and sanding the subframe today and finally managed to get some paint on it. Ill post up some pictures later. Also placed an order with minispares for some subframe goodies so they should be here soon. Watch this space

off topic but ive got to ask what sort of preformance, top speed and acceleration did you get from the 998. the only reason i ask is im thinking of a engine rebuild along much the same spec as yours and was woundering what i am to expect from it.

Top speed very much depends on the gearing/ final drive used. Since I have a 3.2 diff the engine is quite happy sitting at 70 around 4k revs, bearing in mind a 998 will easily rev to 6.5k. Peformance wise, I expect to see around 70bhp once the twin hs2's are on and the fueling sorted out. The acceleration is more than a match for any stage one 1275 motor, and above all else its much more fun.

Sorry I havent updated in a while, Ive been getting assesments out of the way at uni and after today im off for 4 weeks over easter so should be able to get a lot more done.

Since my last post the subframe is now all painted and ready to be built back up:

Also recieved my order from minispares the other day, things such as rose jointed bottom arms, heavy duty tie bars and bushes, rear adjustable tracking brackets , kieth Calver bump stops, goodridge hoses, ball joints, wheel bearings etc.

Also started re-conditioning my swivel hubs with the new ball joints and wheel bearings. Up to now ive stripped them down, painted them and fitted the wheel bearings. I should have finished fitting the ball joints by the weekend and then I can start building the subby back up.

Your next engine build Andy? Does this mean another mini is on the cards, surely your not board of your 1380 lol. Im going to wait until the car is back on the road and running on the 998 engine before I start, no point throwing money at my 1330 build that I may need to get the car finished.

Haven't updated in a while, unfortunately Ive been concentrating on my uni exams, but by wednesday it will all be over and I can concentrate on getting a move on with things; I just want to drive it now.

I have however finished off bulding up my front subframe with new brake lines etc so thats good to go. The swivel hubs have also been fully re-built with new ball joints and bearings. Ive bought some new outer cv's and im currently painting my 8.4" calipers, as I dont yet have the money to fork out for some nice 4 pots. Ill get pictures up of these soon.

My mate has also nearly finished the work that needed to be done to my 12g295 head. Its had new bronze valve guides, valve stem seals on all 8, and the valve seats re-cut and lapped.
